Article #4 (Dave Barry on College)

Reading the article that Dave Barry wrote on college was very comical I thought. Being a senior I've been hearing so many times that college is hard, and you always need to be studying your hardest. While, reading his article i was hearing that you learn 2 hours of things that you need to know, and 1,998 hours on things you don't need to. I find that hard to believe if you ask me. Everything he was talking about in the article about the classes that you should take was his thought on it, when everyone else thinks about them in a different way. I know for a fact that i think of them way different then he was talking about. Reading his article was funny, but i didn't understand why the fact he tired that rat thing on his roommate? I think that when i go to college and if i take any of the classes he was talking about I'm going to go back and read this again and compare. The whole time reading this article i felt like this....3 different types of pictures show you how i felt.

I agree with the first article that I was reading that was about the 7 Grammar rules you should really pay attention. It is a very good article telling you about how each grammar errors that everyone should know about, or should watch out for. If you don't use the words right, or make mistakes then you aren't a bad writer, or a bad person like the article said in it. Everyone makes mistakes, and alot of the time you don't know about it, and also the words they were using i have only heard about a few of them, but not all of them. This article let me learn alot more about the grammar rules that i should use or should at least know about it. The second article that i was reading was about 7 bogus grammar errors you don't need to worry about is an-amazing article just like the first article i was reading. It gives you so much information to help me learn about the things that i need to know, and use in my papers. Reading the article told me that i don't always need them, but it would help. It doesn't make you a bad writer but would it make it better? Yes, it really would make it better but they are telling you that you don't need it.

Academic Article Topic Proposal: Relationships/Families MIxed (Different Race)

In our culture a lot of people i think now adays have a big problem with their parents not okay with them being in a mixed relationship, or even having a mixed families. I believe if you want to have a different raced relationship its not a problem. Myself being in the same boat with my Dad not wanting me to date a different raced person than me is very hard, and knows what it feels like. While watching movies, t.v shows, and being in public you see so many different raced relationships/families. Their are a few movies that stood out to me were "The Blind Side", and "Crash". In "The Blindside" you see this rich family that as everything and this guy that is black is going to this all white school and doesn't have anywhere to stay and this family that is all white takes him in and changed his whole life. In the real world that happened, but i think that you would never really see that everyday. This is saying about our culture is that the way that others think make others scared to or don't wanna come out with what they believe in or who they "Really" wanna date. A lot of the kids now don't pay attention in public, but our parents do.

Reading Response #5 (The Hunger Games Part 2 "The Games)

Right after they were leaving the T.V Show that all the tributes were on, they the next day they were going into the games. They have all been waiting for this day, they have been working and getting strong each and everyday they have been there. Katiness was told when she gets up to the games at first not to get the food, and weapons first just to go the other way and get to water, and a high place. Everyone was going to head to the food, and weapons and they aren't going to share. The day of the Games finally came, it was the day to do it, so also so everyone what you got. Katiness and everyone else were scared and nervous and wasn't looking forward to it. Right as they went up you picture the count down, and how it would go. Then they just go for it, and Katiness doesn't she went the other way like the person told her to. Moving fast, and getting to water, and to a high place was the safe. So far reading and reading this book you find more and more information and it just takes you in every time.

 While reading this article i find myself stopping alot, wandering, and asking alot of questions to myself, like "What really is the whole point of this article?" "When is the ending going to be here yet, but was the article good? Or did you know what it was really talking about? Yes, some what i did. I believe that what the guy was saying i could see is happening to with not just him, but other people in life. Reading online is a big thing now adays, because they have computers, i-pads, notebooks, kindles, and alot more that people are reaading off of and not just hard backs, or paper back books. Its a big thing now that we read off of them, more than in the 1970's or 1980's when Tv was the medium choice that they picked from. Even texting now is big with people, not picking up the phone. Alot of what he said in his article is alot that is happening and changing the world, not just for the Untied States but everywhere around the world.

I think that this paragraph is very true, because alot of people are using the Internet now than just how they had it back in the day. I'm seeing my self going online to do anything now because you can go and do it there and get alot of it done. Like when my mom pays bills she can just sit and pay mostly every single one online because thats how they have it set up now that you just go on and pay. Its crazy that even though im 17 and you see how much the world changes in just a couple of years. I still think to myself what the world is going to look like when im 60. It's not gonna be the internet that they will be using its gonna be something different.

Readign Response #4 (The Hunger games)

"Katniss, the girk who was on fire," says Cinna. When they were calling the tridbutes district 12 wanted Katniss, and Peeta to be known more so thats when they took them and made them have fire come out. Peeta, wanted more then that so he told katniss that they should hold hands because they love that. And the people all did, and they never had that from anyone when district 12 came out. That means more and more people will vote for them when they do the things like that. After all the tridbutes came out they had a show that all of them were on one at a time and they asked the tridbutes questions. When Peeta went out there and the guy was asking them questions he said he liked Katniss and she was so mad when he came back. More and more times reading this book i love how much, that when i read it, and watch the movie i just love it, and cant stop. I need to read the other books and watch the movies.

Reading Response (The Hunger Games)

"I VOLUNTEER, I VOLUNTEER." Katniss Everdeen the Character in The Hunger Games, volunteered herself to be in the T.V show "The Hunger Games" because her sister's name got called. She told her sister that it's her first year and they won't pick her, but they did on the day. They pick one boy, and one girl from each district; they are district 12 that Katniss is from. This book is very good and gives you alot of information, but also i saw the movie and LOVE it. Katniss also lives with her mother, and little sister Primrose. Katniss always has to get food for her family, and takes care of them. She is the man of the house i would have to say. At first when i read this book i really did like it but i read it again and i wanna read the next one after im done with this one.
